Skate for the Cure^®

After the rain and winds subsided from Hurricane Ike, Sunday, September 14 shown bright and clear to welcome Becky Du and Steven Evans, the 2008 U.S. Intermediate Pairs Silver Medalists, to the 8th Annual Skate for the Cure at the Arkansas Skatium. Pink balloons decorated the ice rink while skaters from the Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club joined the duo to provide a short skating exhibition. By the end of the afternoon, the Arkansas Skatium donated $550 to the Arkansas Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The show this year was dedicated to Angie Elser who was diagnosed earlier this year with breast cancer. Special thanks goes to Sandy Bowen for organizing this event!
