Access Project Pink-Southeast Arkansas is a collaborative effort to provide free mammograms, ultrasounds, & breast exams to the rural, underserved, female population in 15 counties in Southeast Arkansas. There are several programs offered in the region by individual hospitals, but this Project is unique in that it can co-exist with the other programs. Access Project Pink will act as an umbrella for all 15 counties and can be utilized by various hospitals as little or as much as the budget will allow. The program is designed by provide access women not being reached by existing programs. Access Project Pink will replace existing programs in this region offered by Greater Delta Alliance for Health. The program will provide easy access with a billboards throughout the region promoting its 1-800 number for the mobile unit’s itinerary for convenient scheduling and other program information. We will also place posters and brochures in physician exam rooms, provide access via the mobile unit that targets festivals, churches, rural businesses, and family reunions, and work with all area hospitals to facilitate easy access for residents that are nearest to their facility.
