THE PROJECT GOAL IS TO INCREASE ACCESS TO MAMMOGRAPHY FOR LOW INCOME, UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED WOMEN AND MEN 
WHERE APPLICABLE. THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE 50 SCREENING MAMMOGRAMS AND 20 FOLLOW-UP BILATERAL DIAGNOSTIC MAMMOGRAMS TO PATIENTS REFERRED TO THE MENA REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEMS BY HEALTHY CONNECTIONS, INC. OUR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS IN MENA AND MT. IDA WILL BE INVOLVED IN PATIENT REFERRALS, FOLLOW-UP AND EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH EVENTS. "PINK FRIDAY", A BREAST CANCER AWARENESS OUTREACH EVENT HELD ANNUALLY FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS, WILL PROVIDE A VENUE FOR EDUCATION , FUN AND FREE VOUCHERS FOR WOMEN WHO PARTICIPATE. THIS PROJECT WILL COVER A CRITICAL GAP FOR WOMEN WHO DO NOT QUALIFY FOR ARKANSAS BREAST CARE AND WHO CAN NOT AFFORD A MAMMOGRAM. BECAUSE WESTERN ARKANSAS HAS A LARGE HISPANIC POPULATION, HCI WILL PROVIDE BILINGUAL STAFF AND ALL FORMS AND QUESTIONAIRES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SPANISH.
