What is a team?
Teams are a way to celebrate life and make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Honor breast cancer survivors, celebrate the lives of lost loved ones or just show your support for the Komen mission, to eradicate breast cancer, with those closest to you. A team is a group of ten (10) or more people who pre-register for the Race at one time through their Team Captain. Any type group is eligible to be a team: businesses, families, schools, clubs, scout troops, sports teams, churches, friends, etc. To register as a team, each member must complete an entry form.
Why form a team?
- Early registration.
- Promote your organization’s community involvement.
- Visible commitment in the fight against breast cancer.
- Opportunity to win Team Awards.
- Enjoy walking/running with people you know.
- Have more fun!
What are a Team Captain’s responsibilities?
- Acquire Team Captain’s Kit (online).
- Recruit Team Members, promote the Race and answer questions.
- Encourage participation in other Race Events.
- Instruct Team Members how to register, either manually (paper forms) or online.
- Complete and submit Team Packet, if you are using manual (paper) registration.
- Distribute t-shirts, bib numbers, etc (for those who register manually with paper forms)
- Give your team a Race Day meeting time and location.
- HAVE FUN!
